People First of Wyoming
People First. Disability Second.

People First of Wyoming is an organization run by people with disabilities (Self-advocates) to raise awareness and advocate for rights of people with disabilities and to learn to have a voice and speak up in how they want to live their lives!

Their Mission
People First of Wyoming believes self advocates and their families should have equal opportunities for employment, housing, freedom of choice, rights and independence.
People First of Wyoming provides opportunities for leadership, teamwork, empowerment, advocacy, friendships and People First Language for all citizens of Wyoming.

What does People First of Wyoming do?
Gives people opportunities to talk about things that are important to them.
Helps people learn about their rights and responsibilities.
Helps people learn to make confident choices.
Helps people learn that making mistakes is a part of life.
Helps people learn about laws and what they mean.
Gives people the opportunity to have their ideas heard by government.
Is where people make new friends and have fun!

People First of Wyoming members have meetings to:
Discuss local chapter issues.
Solve problems.
Start new chapters.
Provide training for chapters and communities.
Promote disability awareness.
Advocate for change and independence.
